Product Description

Overview

ZnSe polarizers operate in transmission and are used to polarize infrared radiation from approximately 1.5 µm to 14 µm in the source note. The design is based on a grating-style polarizing structure on an infrared substrate, with metal coating on one groove facet to support polarization control.

Why This Design Matters

ZnSe is selected for infrared optical layouts where transmission, substrate compatibility, aperture, and coating behavior must be matched to the beam path. Engineers should confirm wavelength, aperture, extinction ratio target, transmission requirement, mounting format, and whether the optic is used with a CO2 laser, FTIR bench, sensor path, or electro-optic modulation system.
