Product Overview

CVD ZnSe plano convex lens Dia25.2mm CO ₂ laser cutting special(Figure1)

This circular zinc selenide plano convex lens is made of ZnSe material prepared by CVD process, specially designed for CO ₂ laser cutting optical path. With the low absorption characteristics in the 10.6 μ m wavelength band supported by the material, it reduces the thermal accumulation of laser energy inside the lens, provides a stable focusing spot for the processing end, and can adapt to the optical path convergence requirements of low and medium power industrial CO ₂ laser cutting scenes.

Selection example: Adaptation to CO ₂ laser cutting scenarios

The CO ₂ laser cutting system for a certain non-metallic sheet has problems with spot deviation and slag accumulation at the edge of the cut after long-term operation of the original focusing element. When selecting, priority should be given to matching CVD ZnSe based flat convex lenses, utilizing the material's low bulk absorption characteristics in the 10.6 μ m wavelength band to reduce the thermal lens effect under continuous operation; By combining clear aperture size of 25.2mm with the radius of curvature  68.4mm, the corresponding beam aperture after beam expansion can be matched to obtain uniform energy distribution within the target depth of focus range, reducing accuracy fluctuations after long-term processing. This selection is only applicable to CO ₂ laser systems in the 10.6 μ m main band and cannot be directly replaced across bands to deep ultraviolet or short wave infrared light paths.

Common selection misconceptions

Many procurement selections only check the outer diameter and focal length of the lens, ignoring the band adaptability of the substrate material, and mistakenly use ordinary optical glass or silicon substrate lenses directly for CO ₂ laser cutting optical paths. Such erroneous practices can lead to a significant absorption of 10.6 μ m laser energy by the substrate, resulting in rapid loss of laser output power and causing the lens to heat up and deform in a short period of time. In severe cases, the lens may even explode, interrupting the processing flow. The correct verification method is to first confirm that the lens substrate is clearly labeled as CVD ZnSe and the designed working wavelength covers 10.6 μ m, and then complete the adaptation test based on the actual power density of the optical path.
