ZnSe Beam Shapers

ZnSe beam shapers for CO2 laser flat-top beam profiles, DOE phase control, micro cutting, drilling, welding, and laser material processing.

Product family Beam Shapers

Product Overview

Overview

ZnSe beam shapers are diffractive optical elements used to transform an incident single-mode laser beam into a uniform flat-top profile at a defined working plane. The goal is to distribute energy more evenly across the treated area, helping reduce local overexposure and underexposure during laser material processing.

Why Beam Shaping Matters

A diffractive beam shaper can create a uniform-intensity spot with a defined size, shape, and sharp edge at the target plane. This helps create a clear transition between treated and untreated areas, which is important for micro cutting, micro drilling, welding, scribing, ablation, and other precision laser processes.

A typical DOE is flat, thin, and lightweight, so it can be integrated into compact optical systems when the input beam, target profile, and working plane are specified correctly.

Engineering Notes

Before ordering, confirm the input beam diameter, wavelength, desired flat-top size, working distance, acceptable diffraction efficiency range, coating target, mounting envelope, and downstream process tolerance. If the DOE must be integrated into an existing laser head, provide the optical layout or mechanical drawing for review.

For adjacent CO2 laser optics, review ZnSe beam expanders or ZnSe F-Theta lenses. To request engineering review, send your beam data and drawing through the contact form.
